Mauritania

(156 products)

Mauritania banknotes are fascinating collectibles reflecting the rich history and cultural heritage of this Northwest African country. Issued by the Central Bank of Mauritania since 1973, these banknotes, denominated in the unique ouguiya currency, feature distinctive designs including portraits of iconic local figures, bilingual Arabic-French inscriptions, and advanced security elements like watermarks and ClearText threads. Numismatists value Mauritanian notes for their rarity, cultural significance, and historical appeal, making them popular collector's items worldwide.
